This semester, students from the 8th and 10th grades at AHSB had the opportunity to take part in two collaborative workshops with students from Private Secondary School Mechtateli. Held on separate days and hosted by both schools, these events encouraged teamwork, creativity, and the exchange of ideas between young people from different learning communities. By stepping outside their usual classroom routines, the students were able to experience diverse perspectives and tackle complex themes in a supportive environment. These cross-campus initiatives highlight our ongoing commitment to building bridges with neighboring educational institutions and enriching the overall academic journey.
Voices That Change the World – 31 March
The first workshop, “Voices That Change the World”, took place at AHSB on 31 March. Students worked in mixed groups, bringing together participants from both schools to discuss and brainstorm topics related to the role of young people in shaping the future of the world. Although some students were initially hesitant to open up to their new peers, engaging icebreakers quickly broke down any communication barriers. Before long, the rooms were buzzing with passionate, thoughtful debates covering everything from environmental sustainability to social equality.

Through discussions and collaborative activities, students explored how youth can contribute to positive change in our society. Each group transformed their ideas into creative posters that reflected their visions and hopes for the future. The workshop demonstrated the power of young voices when they come together. Utilizing vibrant colors, bold slogans, and powerful imagery, the students ensured their messages resonated loudly. These inspiring artworks will soon be exhibited across both campuses to encourage the wider community and spark further conversations among their peers.
Connecting Teens Through Ideas – 7 May

The second workshop, “Connecting Teens Through Ideas”, was held on 7 May at Private Secondary School Mechtateli. Once again, students worked in mixed teams, building on the connections they had formed during the first event. The warm reception from our hosts set a fantastic tone for the day, allowing everyone to dive right into the activities with enthusiasm. It was wonderful to see familiar faces greeting each other, proving that the bonds forged in March had already blossomed into genuine friendships.

This time, the focus was on creativity and innovation. Students collaborated to develop a variety of original projects, including social media reels, movie scripts, and board games. The activity encouraged participants to combine their talents, share perspectives, and turn ideas into engaging and imaginative creations. Watching the groups present their final prototypes was a true highlight, filled with laughter, applause, and genuine admiration for each other’s ingenuity. Ultimately, this semester-long exchange proved that when we empower teenagers with a collaborative space, their potential to create and inspire is truly limitless.
